Hello everyone! My name is Matthew Spencer and I'm lucky enough to be married to my best friend and the most amazing woman I know, Jennifer Kaneshiro. Fortunately for all of you this blog is not going to be solely be about my affinity for my wife, but about our daily routines, successes, and struggles as we move through the adoption process, in an effort to bring our little boy home.
For those of you I have never met, my hope is that my blog may help you at some point along the way in your own process of adoption. For those of you who I know and love, I hope this blog keeps you informed of where Jennifer and I currently are in our own process.
We are currently beginning the 10th month of our wait to bring our son home. It took me 10 months to gain the courage to begin a commitment to this blog. I had thought about it a million times.....thinking it would be so cool to share with him someday.....thinking how this would help pass the time......lord knows we have a lot of time. But today I said to myself, "What better time than now?" So here we are. Being that I started my blog 10 months later than I should have, you may assume the obvious. Much has happened, much has been accomplished, and we still have a long way to go. If you assumed that, you would be correct. So here is how this blog is going to work for the next few weeks. Twice a week I am going to post a blog that goes through each specific phase that we have been through up to this point.......The Decision, Application #1, Application #2, Home Study, Referral, Visa Applications, etc., etc., etc. Hopefully by Thanksgiving we'll be all caught up to present day and we can just move on from there.
In the meantime........I ask that you all pray for our son, Makaio Kaneshiro Spencer, as we wait for him to be united with us, becoming his forever family. We also ask that you pray for us and give us the strength and endurance to make it to that wonderful day when we are forever united. God bless!
Keep'em coming Matt. Little Makaio will be here sooner than we expect :D We're with you and Jenn.
