Saeng-il.....Happy Birthday.....Hau'oli la hanau!!!

As I write this posting the sun has come up across the oceans, and in a home somewhere in Seoul it's just after 8:00 am and our son has awaken to his very first birthday.  As difficult as it may be for us not to be there in celebration with him physically, we celebrate the gift of his life from afar, knowing that he is being loved and taken care of by wonderful people on his special day.

So goes another milestone in the life of an adopting parent.......

Should you read this blog, please do Jen and I a huge favor.......take a second....say a prayer for our son, Makaio on his birthday.  While we may not be able to celebrate traditionally, the best gift we could receive from our family and friends would be your prayers for his health and the speedy transition into our arms this coming year so that we may celebrate his 2nd as a family.

Happy 1st birthday Makaio!  Saeng-il!  Hau'oli la hanau!  We love you so much!
